Cat milestones worth recording
A milestone does not have to be an award or a dramatic event. For a cat, a first peaceful nap in a new home or a new favorite window can be a moment you want to remember. Your journal can celebrate the changes that matter to your family.

The day they became yours
Record adoption day or the first day your cat came home. Save a photo, where you first met, and one detail you remember about that day. If the moment happened years ago, write what you remember and say when a date is approximate.
For future anniversaries, take a photo in a familiar place or write about what has changed. The comparison can tell a richer story than a date alone.
Firsts that reveal their personality
Think about the first time your cat chose to sit beside you, investigated a new toy, or claimed a particular spot as their own. Record what happened, where they were, and what made the moment special.
These are personal memories, not a checklist your cat needs to complete. Let the moments happen naturally rather than trying to stage a photo or push your cat into an unfamiliar situation.
- Their first relaxed nap at home
- The discovery of a favorite toy
- A new window-watching spot
- A first cuddle or a familiar greeting
Birthdays and small annual traditions
A birthday photo, a yearly portrait, or a note on adoption day can become a simple tradition. If their birthday is unknown, celebrating the day they joined your family is enough.
Write down the everyday things as well: favorite games, sleeping places, and the little routines you share. Over time, these details show changes that a portrait on its own may not capture.
Add a milestone in Everwhisker
Use the middle + button and choose Milestone for an occasion you want to mark. Give it a clear title, such as “First afternoon by the window,” and add the details that will help you remember it later.
For an ordinary afternoon, choose today’s moment instead. Photos, everyday entries, and milestones each add a different part of your cat’s story; every memory does not need a milestone label.
When you revisit the journal, look for connections between those moments. A new routine, a favorite place, or a growing bond may become visible across several small entries.
