How to preserve cat photos and memories

A camera roll captures plenty of cat photos, but it can lose the story behind them. Preserving a memory means keeping both the image and the details that explain why it matters, then keeping a separate copy you can recover if your phone is lost or replaced.

Choose the photos that tell a story

Start with a small selection rather than trying to organize your entire camera roll at once. Choose a familiar expression, a favorite place, and a moment with someone your cat loves. A slightly blurry picture can still hold a memory worth keeping.

Save a short note beside each photo: what happened, who was there, or what you cannot see in the frame. “Their first nap after coming home” carries more context than “cute photo.” Keep important original images as well as any edited versions you make.

Keep an external backup

Everwhisker’s private journal lives on your device. Use its backup export to create a backup file, then keep a copy in a location you control outside the phone, such as your computer or personal cloud storage.

The app does not automatically sync private journals to an Everwhisker cloud account. A backup saved only on the same phone may be lost with that phone. Make a new backup after adding important memories and before moving to a different device.

Backup and restore are available for free. Treat the exported file as private: it contains journal information, and exporting a backup does not encrypt it. Store it somewhere you trust and avoid sharing it as though it were a public photo album.

Turn selected memories into keepsakes

A keepsake is a different way to revisit your journal. Everwhisker lets you create Cat ID cards and preview a Memory Album from your cat’s photos and memories. Lifetime Premium unlocks Memory Album exports and every Cat ID design.

Choose the moments that work together: a first-day photo, an everyday routine, and a favorite recent memory. A shorter collection with thoughtful notes often tells a clearer story. Keep the original journal backup alongside any exported keepsakes; a keepsake is not a replacement for a restorable backup.

Share a story without sharing the whole journal

With Lifetime Premium, you can choose to publish a public cat profile on Meowpage. The profile has a browser link you can share with friends and family, including people who do not have the Everwhisker app.

Only the photo and details you choose to publish become public. Check those details before publishing, especially if a picture or note includes information about your home or other people. Your private journal and external backup remain separate from that public profile.
